This week we are adding ambassadors to our programme and over the next few weeks we are going to showcase our ambassadors through a series of blogs and interviews
Starting with an introduction from our newest recruit Millie Forrest
My name is Millie Forrest and I am a para athlete who competes in the F37 Shot Put and Discus events for Wigan Harriers.
I have also competed for Great Britain too.
I went to the IWAS World Junior Games in 2014 and become Shot Put U23 World Champion and Discus U23 Silver Medalist.
My biggest achievement up to date though has to be getting the opportunity to compete in Holland at the 2015 IWAS World Junior Games. I came away from that competition, U23 World Champion again in the Shot Put and Bronze Medalist in the Discus.
I am currently training 6 days a week in preparation for the season ahead doing various different training session such as technical, weights, circuit training, Pilates and a bit of swimming as well.
My first big comp of the season will be the British Universities Championships at the end of April so at the moment all the training I am doing will be in preparation for this.
I have a few small comps before that as part of my warm up leading to the Championships.
My main aim this year is to be selected for the European Championships in June.
